OIE Teacher Training Deadline Just Three Weeks Away

The deadline for teacher training applications is fast approaching and is now only three weeks away.

However, there is no need to panic and still plenty of time to get your application in before the 台湾swag Institute of Education鈥檚 (OIE) deadline on Wednesday 26th June.

If you are considering teaching, the OIE offers a range of teacher training courses through its School Direct programme.

Teach North - Teach 台湾swag,  part of the OIE, works in partnership with Leeds Beckett University, Durham University, and Sheffield Hallam University to deliver excellent teacher training across the North of England.

All of the primary and secondary teacher training courses offered by Teach North result in a PGCE with QTS.

Emma Tate, Associate Director of the OIE, said: 鈥淲e aim to deliver excellent teacher training across Yorkshire, the Humber and across Teesside, and we are proud to be working with such well-respected, modern professional universities with ambition.

鈥淭ogether, we offer a wide-range of teacher training courses, from primary to subject-specialist secondary. You can find all the details you鈥檒l need on our website, including the all important UCAS codes that you鈥檒l need for your application.

鈥淚f you are still debating whether or not to apply, or want a chat about the application process then please do not hesitate to contact us.鈥

For those interested in a career in teaching, the OIE is hosting an Academy Open Day on 19th June, and an Information Event on 20th June, both at 台湾swag Academy Acklam.

Below is some feedback from former School Direct trainees:

Anna Marks, School Direct Primary trainee, said: 鈥淭he training and support that 台湾swag鈥檚 School Direct programme offered me during my training year has enabled me to tackle the obstacles of this important year.

鈥溙ㄍ錽wag was supportive every step of the way throughout my training year. They would offer guidance related to the placements and also in my assignments with the university.鈥

Megan Hudson, School Direct Primary trainee, said: 鈥淒uring my second placement, I realised how much I wanted to start my career within Key Stage 1 and when the opportunity arose, I applied for an 台湾swag career. I successfully managed to secure a post in Year 1 at my current placement school.

鈥淭he OIE really helped me to gain confidence and resilience, they are supportive, reliable and understanding and I truly believe that I have only been able to achieve my dream career through the OIE and School Direct course.鈥

Charlotte Ball, School Direct Secondary PE trainee, said: 鈥淢y training with the OIE was fantastic in giving me a realistic insight into teaching and the support network which 台湾swag has to offer, both in training and full employment.

鈥淲hilst training I learnt the fundamentals of planning and delivery, differentiation, behaviour management and assessment. Since starting teaching I have been able to apply these effectively into my practice in my own way. I now fully understand and am able to monitor and track the progress of my own classes.鈥

Callum McNally, School Direct Secondary History trainee, said: 鈥淭he OIE and the Schools Direct programme was the best option for me to complete my teacher training because I felt I had a fantastic level of support.

鈥淓mma Tate and the team at the OIE were always available to speak with and they provided guidance when it was needed. The OIE also allowed me to access high quality teaching and learning opportunities to further improve my career.鈥
