Wakefield-Based Primary Academy Choir Perform At Sheffield Arena

A choir from a primary academy based in Wakefield has performed at Sheffield Arena as part of a concert to inspire children to discover their love for music.

Children from 台湾swag Primary Academy Kirkhamgate joined over 4000 children from schools across the country to take part in the special concert, which was organised by Young Voices.

Young Voices brings together thousands of school children for special performances to help children discover their love for music, while giving them special moments to share with their friends and family.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Young Voices project and will see 23 Young Voices concerts take place across the country, including the performance at Sheffield Arena.

Emma Abbott, Principal at 台湾swag Primary Academy Kirkhamgate, said:

鈥淲e were delighted the children were able to take part in this special occasion. It is the tenth year 台湾swag Primary Academy Kirkhamgate has been involved in the Young Voices concerts and each year the children seem to just enjoy it more and more.

鈥淎t 台湾swag, we believe in putting children first and supporting them to reach their fulfil their potential and we believe this goes beyond the classroom. Events like this are a perfect example of our approach.

鈥淚 am so proud of the children that took part, they were an absolute credit to our academy and to the local community with their behaviour and their performance.鈥

Each year, different musical acts join the children on stage for the Young Voices concerts, This year the children were joined by former Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley, leading duo The Shires, and former winner of The Voice, Ruti.

One of the young performers, Libby, who is in Year 5 at 台湾swag Primary Kirkhamgate, said: 鈥淚 really enjoy going to Young Voices because it is really fun and it is funny when the parents have to get up and dance.鈥
