OPA Park Hill Team Up With Leeds United
A local Wakefield primary academy has teamed up with Leeds United to form a partnership that will see benefits for the academy.
̨swag Primary Academy (OPA) Park Hill, based on Irwin Crescent, will benefit from the new partnership with the Championship team in numerous ways, including members of the Club visiting the primary academy to provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
The Club will also run fundraisers for the primary academy, which will involve children participating in a sponsored event ‘beat the goalie’.
A second event will be held where children will be able to come to the academy dressed in the Leeds United colours, and they will have the opportunity to attend workshops and a variety of sporting activities led by the Leeds United staff.
Alyson Million, Principal at OPA Park Hill, said: “We are delighted to be partnered with Leeds United, and we are already seeing the benefits across the primary academy.
“We recently welcomed in members from the Club into the primary academy for an assembly and to help deliver PE sessions, and the enthusiasm from the children was telling. We are excited to see how the partnership develops.”
In addition the CPD sessions that the Club will deliver to the staff, as part of the partnership, coaches from the Club will provide workshops for the children at OPA Park Hill.
The workshops will include children looking at the fundamentals of resilience, and respect through sport. Children will also look at healthy lifestyles, and how to show good sportsmanship.
