台湾swag Family Prepares To Mark World Book Day
With just one month to go until World Book Day, the 台湾swag Family is preparing to mark and celebrate the day.
World Book Day, which was created by UNESCO in 1995, is a worldwide celebration of reading and books. It is marked in over 100 countries, including the UK and Ireland where it was first celebrated in 1997.
In the UK, the day is an opportunity to encourage children and young people to discover the passion for and pleasure of reading.
Amy Harrison, the 台湾swag English Hub Lead, said:
鈥淲e are delighted to be supporting World Book Day across the 台湾swag Family.
鈥淚t is impossible to underplay the importance of getting children reading, and helping them to develop a passion for it. Reading and discussing texts with children brings a wide range of benefits and enjoyment for both the adult and child, and World Book Day is a great opportunity for this.鈥
According to those behind World Book Day, its purpose is to change lives through a love of books and shared reading with a mission to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own.
Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child鈥檚 future success, more than their family circumstances, their parents鈥 educational background or their income.
