Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) has announced eight schools from across the UK, which have been named as recipients of the National Inclusion Champion Award; among them, is a secondary academy in Barnsley.

Fifteen university students are celebrating as their internships come to an end having given them a valuable insight into teaching.

On Monday 17 July, ̨Íåswag Academy Shafton students presented a cheque for over £4,000 to Yorkshire Air Ambulance representative, Laura Lawton. The money was raised at the ‘Bike Fest’ event, held at the academy on 1 July.

Students at ̨Íåswag Academy City have renovated a garden area as part of a partnership programme with Sheffield United Community Foundation.

̨Íåswag Academy Adwick, in Doncaster, has been recognised for its outstanding careers work. The school has been awarded the national Quality in Careers Standard awarded under licence by Ixion (Part of the Shaw Trust Group).

Students from ̨Íåswag Academy Danum secured third place in the Junior NBA Yorkshire league after beating schools from across the region.

̨Íåswag Grange Academy and ̨Íåswag Academy Hemsworth have scooped wins at this year’s National Student Voice Awards 2023. The awards, organised by Votesforschools, recognise schools that prioritise student voice and empower young people to make a positive impact in their communities.

̨Íåswag Academy Bishopsgarth, in Stockton-on-Tees, has been recognised for its outstanding careers work. The school has been awarded the national Quality in Careers Standard awarded under licence by Ixion (Part of the Shaw Trust Group).

̨Íåswag Academy Hemsworth Post-16 students recently completed the highly impactful ‘Lessons from Auschwitz’ programme, delivered by the Holocaust Educational Trust (HET).

̨Íåswag Academy Riverside has been judged as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in its first inspection since opening just three years ago.
